PocketSpark is a simple tool to give business leaders new ideas about their apps. You simply type in the business you're in, such as "taxi" or "diabetes" or "retail fashion", and PocketSpark will generate app ideas.
Sometimes we get stuck in our old ways of thinking, so creating new ideas isn't as easy as it sounds. That's why we made PocketSpark.
Just to set expectations, some ideas will be cool and some will be a bit boring. The goal here is to provide you with inspiration and be a stepping-stone to a better idea for your own business.
PocketSpark came about after I studied strategy with IDEO U in January 2022. They teach a design-thinking approach to problem-solving, where idea generation is a deliberate and compulsory step. Their thinking is this; if we want to create unique and innovative ideas, we need a lot of them.
With this variety of ideas, we can evaluate and pick the best ones.
It's clear that generative AI is proving very useful in the creative space, and I was curious to learn if AI could be used to assist creative problem solving.
The timing seemed right to try this, since over the last year, there has been an explosion of AI tools. It was triggered by OpenAI creating its amazing APIs, giving developers access to amazing technologies. I had been exploring this and was curious to learn how the tech worked.
PocketSpark is built using the OpenAI GPT-3 model, meaning it has over 420 billion data points. For the techies out there, the user interface is a simple React app, and the brains of the application are created using serverless functions.
Have a play with PocketSpark and let me know what you think.
